Princeton Yoga is honored to be again hosting the Little Flower Yoga and its comprehensive certification program for teaching yoga and mindfulness to children and youth ages 3 to 18.
Join one of the most professional and comprehensive Children’s Yoga Teacher Training programs available, and learn to teach a holistic class that uses all aspects of the yoga practice to meet children’s physical, emotional and social needs.
The Little Flower Yoga (LFY) Teacher Training is a comprehensive certification program certified by Yoga Alliance, and offering up to 6 graduate level credits (through our accredited partner University of the Pacific) the training focuses on the complete physical, mental, emotional and social well-being of students.
The foundation of the training is rooted in building your own self-awareness and deepening personal practice—after all, we can’t teach what we don’t know. From there, LFY equips you with a wide range of activities that you can immediately implement with the kids you work with.
Little Flower Yoga’s work is research-based, developmentally appropriate, culturally responsive, and centered on healing and resilience building. Trauma-informed teaching practices are integrated into all of their programs. As practitioners and educators themselves, they are immersed in the latest developments in the field and update their curriculum regularly.

What if I haven’t been practicing yoga for that long?
You don’t have to be able to do crazy yoga poses for training, but general familiarity with the practice is important. The best thing to do is to just participate in classes at a local yoga studio before training, and if possible taking a beginners workshop is wonderful preparation.

About Little Flower Yoga (LFY)
Little Flower Yoga is a New York-based organization dedicated to making the tools of yoga and mindfulness available to all children and teens. Their classes are rooted in youth development principles and address children’s holistic wellness needs in a joy filled environment.
The School Yoga Project, a program of LFY, currently serves over 700 children per week with in-school and after-school yoga classes, and reaches many more through our network of trained school staff and affiliate partners.LFY also offers a comprehensive, yoga alliance accredited Teacher Training certification for yoga instructors and practitioners interested in sharing yoga with children and teens.
Created by an educator, our programs incorporate learning goals throughout every class, and our instructors take advantage of the many teachable moments that occur in each session. Little Flower Yoga challenges students to learn in new ways, make connections, and recognize their tremendous capacity to achieve. Everyday, we strive to provide tools that help all children come to school ready to learn, and give parents and teachers strategies and support to reinforce these tools.
In May of 2009 LFY became a founding member of the Yoga Service Council, a non-profit organization whose mission is to develop a community of professional support in the field of yoga service. We are committed to sharing a skills based approach to yoga and mindfulness with all children, regardless of circumstance.
